Change Coming to Alexandria’s Waterfront (Video)

Via Facebook, the City of Alexandria, Virginia plans to create an “interim” public plaza at the foot of King Street until construction begins on the permanent park envisioned in the City’s Waterfront Plan. The interim plaza will becalled ‘Interim Fitzgerald Square’.

The plaza will encompass the City-owned properties of 1 & 2 King Street, and the existing King Street Park, totaling about one acre of land.

The last thing the city council wants you to ask is how much this is all costing, including legal expenses over the last 10 years. The only good thing is that they forced the boat club to accept just $5 million for a $20 million property by threatening to seize it through eminent domain.
