Police Investigate Shooting on Wythe Street

This is an update to this post. The Alexandria Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred in the 1200 block of Wythe Street of Alexandria, Virginia in the Braddock Road Metro neighborhood on Thursday, May 26, 2016.

At approximately 2:26 am, officers responded to a report of gunshots heard in the area of the 1200 block of Wythe Street. Upon arrival, officers located the victim nearby, a 23 year-old male, suffering from an injury to the lower body. He was transported to a local hospital. The victim’s injury was identified as a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. The investigation is ongoing.
