Upcycle Creative Reuse Center Moves into new digs UpCycle Creative Reuse Center, a local Alexandria nonprofit, has moved to the Durant Arts Center, 1605 Cameron St. The new space has free parking, is handicap accessible and is located within a block of the King Street Metro. (Alexandria Gazette)

Potomac Riverboat Company acquired by Chicago-based firm Chicago-based Entertainment Cruises, whose D.C. cruise fleet includes the Odyssey III, has acquired Alexandria, Virginia-based Potomac Riverboat Company for an undisclosed sum. (WTOP)

Cake artist Maggie Austin LaBaugh is no longer working with Buzz Bakeshop It’s been about six months since cake artist Maggie Austin LaBaugh helped introduce a new Buzz Bakeshop, the bakery first opened by Neighborhood Restaurant Group in 2006. Now, Buzz, with locations in Alexandria and Arlington, is carrying on without her. (WaPo)

Saying goodbye to late night weekend service on Metrorail The cutback is part of Metro’s SafeTrack program. The agency is reducing service hours to make more time for track repairs. The move comes after federal officials told Metro it has to make the system safer. (WAMU)
