Al’s Steakhouse Reopening Soon in Alexandria, Virginia

This is an update to this post. After suffering a devastating fire last year on their grand reopening day, the Del Ray community came out and supported Al’s Steakhouse with a HUGE fundraiser.

A Del Ray institution, Al’s Steakhouse closed in December 2015 after the death of John Severson, who took over the shop from its namesake in 1965. The Breeding family, longtime customers of Al’s Steakhouse, purchased the restaurant, and has worked with the Severson family to preserve the neighborhood landmark and its signature steak-and-cheese sandwiches.

Now, we’re hearing the Breeding family is targeting this coming week for a soft opening for Al’s Steakhouse.

Update on Al’s: the Owners Contractor has had his Final Inspections. Now we are in the process of cleaning, organizing and getting our inspections set up. The Contractor has a few punch list items to complete.

It’s been a long frustrating year for us all and we really appreciate everyone’s support! We look forward to serving you within the next couple of weeks.

Cross your fingers and say some prayers!
