Al’s Steakhouse has Reopened for Business in Alexandria

This is an update to this post. After suffering a devastating fire last year on their grand reopening day, the Del Ray community came out and supported Al’s Steakhouse with a HUGE fundraiser.

A Del Ray institution, Al’s Steakhouse closed in December 2015 after the death of John Severson, who took over the shop from its namesake in 1965. The Breeding family, longtime customers of Al’s Steakhouse, purchased the restaurant, and has worked with the Severson family to preserve the neighborhood landmark and its signature steak-and-cheese sandwiches.

As we told you first, the Breeding family targeted this week for a soft opening for Al’s Steakhouse.

They are now OPEN. Welcome back Al’s!
