On Sunday, July 30 and Monday, July 31, come to the Stabler-Leadbeater Apothecary Museum in Old Town Alexandria to celebrate Harry Potter’s birthday.

On Sunday, July 30, in honor of Harry Potter’s birthday, the Apothecary is offering family-friendly tours that explore the real world of science and medicine behind J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter series. Tickets are on sale NOW for timed entry at the museum. This event sells out, so purchase in advance!

Cost for the family-friendly tour on July 30 is $6 per person ages 5 and up; advance purchase for a timed ticket is required through the online store, and all children must be accompanied by ticketed adult.

On Monday, July 31, adults are invited to a special evening celebration from 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM – Happy Birthday Harry! It’s the 20th anniversary of the world meeting Harry Potter! Relive the magic of the books and explore the real world of Harry Potter while enjoying an inspired cocktail crafted by Old Town Dolci Gelati Cafe. Hour-long tours with timed entry between 6 and 9p.m. include time for pictures in the photo booth (bring your own camera) and a make-and-take inspired by the series. This event sells out, so purchase in advance!

Cost is $20 per person, 21 and older only, and includes birthday cake and magical cocktails. Advance purchase of limited tickets is required and are available online.

The Stabler-Leadbeater Apothecary Museum in Old Town Alexandria is noted for its outstanding collection of medicinal herbs, shop furnishings, apothecary bottles and equipment, many still in their original location. It also has a spectacular collection of archival materials, including journals, letters and diaries, prescription and formula books, ledgers, orders and invoices. The names of famous customers appear in the documents, including Martha Washington, Nelly Custis, and Robert E. Lee.
