Police Arrest Juvenile For Multiple Shooting in Del Ray

The Alexandria Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred in the 400 block of E. Howell Avenue on Thursday, July 27, 2017. The police have now made an arrest in the case, the suspect is a juvenile.

At approximately 12:46 p.m., officers were dispatched to a “shots fired” call and located three injured adults at the scene. The initial investigation has shown that a vehicle traveling on E. Howell Avenue was shot at by the suspect. The vehicle was occupied by three individuals and it crashed after being fired upon.

A 19-year-old woman, 21-year-old man and a 49-year-old man were transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries related to the shooting.

The suspect, age 17, an Alexandria City resident, was charged with Malicious Wounding. The suspect’s name will not be released because the suspect is a juvenile.
