Sun and warm weather continues – when will it rain again? Tuesday (8/1) will be another sunny and “normal”-ly warm (to slightly hot) day across the DMV with tons of sun and temps once again 85-90 degrees. (DMV Weather)

There are BIG plans underway for the north side of Potomac Yard The original North Potomac Yard Small Area Plan was approved in 2010. In 2015, Potomac Yard developer representative JBG Companies expressed a desire to further development of the area in ways that would require updating the plan. (Alexandria Gazette)

Feds find serious safety issues still with Metrorail Emergency power cut-offs that were not working, slip-ups with new safety rules and a disclosure that some significant concrete work may be shoddy and need to be redone are among the new details in the latest series of federal reports on Metro. The Historic Uptown Theater in DC gets to keep its sign In response to community feedback, AMC will maintain the Uptown signage, with an upgrade to LED lighting for better energy efficiency and to ensure the sign remains in good working order.  (PoPville)
