The City of Alexandria offered a significant amount of tax breaks to woo the National Science Foundation in 2013. The new headquarters, located at the Hoffman Town Center in the Eisenhower East neighborhood of Alexandria, is expected to generate $83m/yr in economic activity.
Today, they announced they are four (4) weeks away from beginning a phased move in to their new HQ in Alexandria. The physical move to NSF’s new headquarters will be phased over a six-week period, beginning Thursday, August 24 through Sunday, October 1.
