The Carlyle Community Council, the City of Alexandria and the Alexandria Economic Development Partnership bring you Saturday Cinema at Carlyle – an outdoor film festival this weekend. The FREE movie festival takes place the first Saturday of every month from July – October transforming John Carlyle Square Park in the Carlyle District of Alexandria into an outdoor movie theater.
August 5th brings us the 1980 comedy classic Caddyshack, followed by romantic comedy When Harry Met Sally on September 2nd, over Labor Day weekend. The series will close out on October 7th with Alfred Hitchcock’s The Birds to celebrate Halloween.
Movies are held rain or shine (Movie will be cancelled if severe weather is forecast).
Grab a date, the family or a group of friends, bring the lawn chairs and a picnic and enjoy some great flicks under the stars. There are lots of great restaurants in Carlyle to grab a bite before heading over. Alexandria based food truck Popped Republic will also be on site vending this Saturday during the movie.

This new movie series is part of a variety programming initiatives planned for Carlyle as part of the City’s Carlyle Vitality Initiative whose mission is to enhance the quality of life in the Carlyle neighborhood for residents, employees and visitors and maintaining the success of one of the City’s most important commercial districts.
