TRAFFIC: Route 110 Nighttime Lane Closures at Route 27 in August 2017

Route 110 at the Route 27 interchange and local ramps will have nighttime closures from Monday, Aug. 7 to Thursday, Aug. 24 in order to install bridge beams, according to the Virginia Department of Transportation.

The closures will occur as follows, weather permitting:

  • Monday night, Aug. 7 through Thursday night, Aug. 10: Closures up to 30 minutes each on ramp from eastbound Route 27 to northbound Route 110 between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m.
  • Friday night, Aug. 11 & Saturday night, Aug. 12: Two left lanes of southbound Route 110 closed between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m., full closures up to 30 minutes each on northbound Route 110 between midnight and 4 a.m.
  • Monday night, Aug. 14 & Tuesday night, Aug. 15: Two left lanes of northbound Route 110 closed between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m., full closures up to 30 minutes each on southbound Route 110 between midnight and 4 a.m.
  • Wednesday night, Aug. 16 through Saturday night, Aug. 19: Right lane of southbound Route 110 closed between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m., closures up to 30 minutes each on ramp from westbound Route 27 to the Pentagon between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m.
  • Monday night, Aug. 21 & Tuesday night, Aug. 22: Full closures up to 30 minutes each on both northbound and southbound Route 110 between midnight and 4 a.m.
  • Wednesday night, Aug. 23: Two right lanes of northbound Route 110 closed between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m., closures up to 30 minutes each on ramp from eastbound Route 27 to northbound Route 110 between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m.
  • Thursday night, Aug. 24: Two right lanes of southbound Route 110 closed between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m., closures up to 30 minutes each on ramp from westbound Route 27 to the Pentagon between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m.

Drivers should expect delays and are advised to use alternate routes. Message signs alerting motorists to the closures are in place.

The work is part of the Route 27 over Route 110 project, which is scheduled for completion in spring 2018.
