City of Alexandria to Host 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony

The City of Alexandria invites the public to a ceremony to mark the tragic events of September 11, 2001, on Monday, September 11, 2017, at 10 a.m., in Market Square, located at 301 King Street in Old Town Alexandria, Virginia.

The event will honor those who died, and pay tribute to those who responded without fear, acted without hesitation, and gave their lives to save others. In the event of rain, the ceremony will take place in the Lee Center Auditorium, located at 1108 Jefferson Street.

The ceremony will feature remarks from Mayor Allison Silberberg and representatives from the Alexandria Police Department, Fire Department, and Sheriff’s Office. The tribute will also include the “Return to Quarters” bell-ringing ceremony.
