Old Dominion Boat Club Boots Nina’s Dandy from the Alexandria Waterfront

by Lee Hernly, Editor

The new Old Dominion Boat Club (ODBC) clubhouse, located at 0 Prince Street, the former location of the Beachcomber restaurant, has led to some unintended consequences in Alexandria, Virginia.

After reaching a deal with the City of Alexandria to move the clubhouse, the new clubhouse will allow the city to create Fitzgerald Square Park. Over eighty (80) percent of the ODBC members voted for a deal from the City.

The deal called for the City of Alexandria to sell the riparian rights to where the Nina’s Dandy docks in Alexandria, Virginia. Sources confirm the ODBC has now declined to renew their lease. After 38 years, as of January 1, 2018, Nina’s Dandy will no longer call Alexandria, Virginia home.

Having said that, sources at City Hall tell us the City is looking for a home for Nina’s Dandy along the waterfront and we also hear the owners are quickly looking for alternate docking arrangements. If you are upset about this as we hear a lot of people are, you can contact the Alexandria City Council.

You can still enjoy the Nina’s Dandy thru New Year’s Eve and you can support the Nina’s Dandy by enjoying her at the final New Year’s Eve cruise from Alexandria. Tickets are $190.

It’d be awesome if this article was more than like 12 words. Even if you’re still drafting, please have a cohesive article before you post?
