Construction Worker Trapped in Trench in Parkfairfax

UPDATE (2:57 PM): Construction worker has been rescued and is being transported to Alexandria Hospital.

The Alexandria Fire Department is working to rescue a construction worker from a partial trench collapse in the Parkfairfax neighborhood of Alexandria, Virginia Tuesday.

According to fire officials, the incident occurred around 2:19 p.m. in the 3500 block of Gunston Road near Valley Drive and one man is trapped inside loose gravel nearly up to his waist.

This is a developing story, as more news becomes available, we’ll update this post.
