Pedestrian Struck in Old Town Alexandria

UPDATE (10:31 PM): Duke Street has now REOPENED in both directions. Hearing that injuries to the victim were not life-threatening.

UPDATE: I erred saying 1600 block (why I should wear my glasses, especially at night). Previous update corrected.

UPDATE (9:38 PM): APD has CLOSED Duke Street at the 1000 block due to the crash investigation.

A pedestrian was struck Thursday night by a vehicle at the intersection of S. Patrick Street & Duke Street in Old Town Alexandria, Virginia.

The incident occurred at approximately 8:45 p.m. No word on injuries to the victim. We will update the post as more news becomes available.

Expect delays in the area due to the response and the incident is being investigated by the Alexandria Police Department.
