Wind Advisory in Alexandria, Virginia Thursday

The National Weather Service has issued a Wind Advisory for Alexandria, Virginia and the surrounding Northern Virginia area until 7:00 PM tonight (Thursday, January 4, 2018). 45-55 MPH gusts are expected until this evening.

…WIND ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 PM EST THIS EVENING…

* TIMING…Through this afternoon.

* WINDS…Northwest 20 to 25 mph with gusts up to 50 mph.

* IMPACTS…Strong winds may blow down limbs, trees, and power lines. Scattered power outages are expected.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

A Wind Advisory means that winds of 45 to 55 mph are expected.
Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.
