Winter Warming Shelter OPEN in Alexandria for People in Need

UPDATE (2:41 PM): We hear winter shelter will be open 24/7 all weekend.

With Mother Nature fiercely gripping Alexandria, Virginia with winter cold, a reminder that the emergency winter shelter is OPEN to anyone in need at Carpenter’s Shelter, located at 930 North Henry Street in Alexandria, Virginia for those needing a warm place to stay as overnight temperatures are expected to be at or near zero through Saturday.

At the shelter, an invitation is extended to anyone in need of a warm place to spend the night. This includes residents who have frozen pipes and/or no heat.

If you see anyone in need of a warm place, please contact Alexandria Police at 703.746.4444.

Donations of pillows, blankets and other supplies, and, most importantly, food, are always  welcome at the shelter.
