New Water Main Break in Alexandria, Virginia

UPDATE (1/7/2018): And there’s a water main break in Old Town Sunday morning.

After five (5) water main breaks on New Year’s Day, there is a water main break this evening (Saturday, January 6, 2018) in the Southeast neighborhood of Alexandria, Virginia.

Remember, water mains are more likely to break between November and February. In other words, we’re right at the height of water main break season.

Virginia American Water crews are at the scene.

Approximately 75 customers will have low pressure or no water @ S. Royal Street between Duke Street & Gibbon Street as well Wolfe Street & Wilkes Street bt S. Pitt Street and S. Royal Street.

Expect road(s) to be closed to traffic during repairs.

At this time, Virginia American Water expects the repairs to the water main break to be completed in the next few hours.
