Alexandria Winter Warming Shelter Open Monday


With Mother Nature bringing freezing rain Monday afternoon, the emergency winter shelter is OPEN to anyone in need at Carpenter’s Shelter, located at 930 North Henry Street in Alexandria, Virginia for those needing a warm place to stay as overnight temperatures are expected to be at or near zero through Saturday.

At the shelter, an invitation is extended to anyone in need of a warm place to spend the night. This includes residents who have frozen pipes and/or no heat.

Donations of pillows, blankets and other supplies, and, most importantly, food, are always  welcome at the shelter.
