Fire Hydrant in Del Ray Under Repair Causing Water Issues

Fire Hydrant in Del Ray Under Repair Causing Water IssuesUPDATE (4:20 PM): It is NOT a Virginia American Water crew on scene but, a City of Alexandria, Virginia crew fixing the hydrant. Changed the title of the post to reflect that.

This afternoon, a City of Alexandria crew is making repairs on a fire hydrant valve on East Howell Avenue at LaGrande Avenue in the Del Ray neighborhood of Alexandria, Virginia.

As a result, customers in the E. Howell Ave area of Del Ray area may experience no water, low pressure, or discolored water. Repairs are expected to last through the afternoon into early evening before water service is back to normal.

When service is restored, customers may experience cloudy and or discolored water. If your water is discolored, wait until it runs clear before using. This should typically take only a few minutes.
