Winter Weather Advisory for Alexandria Wednesday Morning

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for Alexandria, Virginia and the surrounding area from 4:00 AM to 9:00 AM Wednesday, January 17, 2017. Winter Weather Advisories are normally issued when travel conditions are expected to worsen.

Wednesday’s hazard being:

…WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 9 AM EST THIS MORNING…

* WHAT…Snow occurring. Plan on slippery road conditions during the morning commute. Additional snow accumulations of up to one inch are expected.

* WHERE…The District of Columbia, and portions of central Maryland and central and northern Virginia, including the Baltimore-Washington metropolitan area.

* WHEN…Until 9 AM EST this morning.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…Be prepared for reduced visibilities at times.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

A Winter Weather Advisory for snow means periods of snow will cause primarily travel difficulties. Be prepared for snow covered roads and limited visibilities, and use caution while driving. The latest road conditions for the state you are calling from can be obtained by calling 5 1 1.
