Photos: Meet the New ACPS Superintendent

On Saturday, January 20, Alexandria City Public Schools (ACPS) held a “community meet and greet” with newly appointed ACPS Superintendent Dr. Gregory C. Hutchings, Jr., who will start in the role on July 1. The meet and greet took place in the media center at George Washington Middle School in Alexandria, Virginia.

Last month, the Alexandria City School Board selected Dr. Gregory C. Hutchings, Jr., a graduate of T.C. Williams High School, as superintendent of ACPS.

Dr. Hutchings got to meet parents, teachers, and concerned citizens and told those assembled about his history at ACPS, his work as School Superintendent in Shaker Heights, Ohio, and his plans once he begins work in Alexandria once again as Superintendent. He took questions from those assembled for over an hour.

You can hear audio from the event on this Monday’s podcast (including our short interview).
