New Streetlight Banners in Alexandria’s Carlyle Area

by Lee Hernly, Editor

The Carlyle neighborhood of Alexandria, Virginia got a bit brighter recently, as new banners have been hung from the streetlight poles around the neighborhood welcoming ‘seekers’ and ‘makers’.

In addition to those placed along Duke Street, new banners can also be seen strewn throughout the neighborhood. This design seeks to welcome people to Carlyle.

The banners are part of the City’s Carlyle Vitality Initiative whose mission is to enhance the quality of life in the Carlyle neighborhood for residents, employees and visitors and maintaining the success of one of the City’s most important commercial districts.

While the banners are bright, I’m not so sure about the design. What do you think about the banners?

Great idea to redo the banners, but couldn’t they have been more vibrant in color and design, like the Carlyle community?
