(UPDATE (11:28 AM): Removed the Beltway reference. Thanks readers for keeping me honest!
As we told you first back in 2016, Glory Days Grill, a sports-themed family restaurant operating 26 corporate and franchised restaurants in 4 states, will open a new restaurant at 3141 Duke St in the Alexandria Commons Shopping Center in Alexandria, Virginia.
This will be the company’s 15th location in Virginia, and the first to be located in the city of Alexandria, Virginia. Glory Days Grill will anchor the east end of the center with an anticipated opening now happening in 2018. The restaurant is replacing the now-shuttered Lone Star Steakhouse.
Our sources have confirmed the lease details have finally been worked out and the special use permit for the site is working its way through City Hall as we speak. We hear this project is now looking like a 4th quarter 2018 opening.
“We are excited to open Glory Days Grill in the west end of Alexandria. I know the local community will enjoy our sports themed and family-friendly restaurant. Our neighbors will also benefit from Glory Days’ commitment and deep ties to local schools,” said Jeff Newman, President and Co-Founder. “Some of the main reasons we chose Alexandria Commons Shopping Center are the abundance of free parking, the opportunity to include a 600 square foot banquet room, the designation of ‘15 minute only’ parking to accommodate carry out/to go customers, and a large covered patio that will extend the entire front of the restaurant,” said Newman.
The new Alexandria Commons location will feature over 6,700 square feet of dining, bar, and private banquet seating, with an abundance of TVs broadcasting the latest sports, news and entertainment programming. Guests will enjoy a comfortable, family-friendly yet modern atmosphere utilizing warm colors and tones.
We are told Perfect Nails (see above) is supposed move downstairs prior to opening. This will allow for a large takeout area for Glory Days.
Like all Glory Days Grill restaurants, the Alexandria Commons location will focus on product excellence with the highest standards in food quality and safety, a love of sports, and a dedication to the community. The Alexandria Commons restaurant will provide fundraising programs for schools and teams, and managers will accept applications for team sponsorships in the near future.
Glory Days Grill restaurants donate over $450,000 annually to schools and teams through sponsorships, fundraising and other community programs. The company recently opened a restaurant last fall at Barcroft Plaza in Fairfax County proceeded by a franchised location in Apex, NC opening in summer 2017.
Opening has been added to our future openings page.
