Where Were You When Shuttle Challenger Exploded 32 Years Ago? #OTD

As we have done previously with the President John Kennedy shooting in Dallas and the 1st man on the moon, we’d like to know where were you 32 years ago today when the Space Shuttle Challenger exploded at 11:39 a.m. killing all 7 crew members – Dick Scobee, Mike Smith, Greg Jarvis, Judy Resnik, Ron McNair, Ellison Onizuka, and Christa McAuliffe. Ms. McAuliffe was to be the first teacher in space. She was recently honored.

I was stationed in Panama City, Panama at the time and remember being glued to the TV with what seemed like hundreds of my fellow servicemen to ABC News coverage of the incident (see above). If you were around in Alexandria at the time, where were you when you first heard this news?
