How to Keep Alexandria, Virginia News in Your Facebook Feed

If you have noticed a change on your Facebook feed recently, you have seen that posts from news/media companies like ours have become less frequent on your Facebook timeline.

This change is due to the recent change in the social network’s algorithm according to Facebook creator Mark Zuckerberg who announced the change recently. The news feed change prioritizes content from friends and family over posts such as news, events, videos or posts from brands such as ours.

If you’d like to keep local Alexandria, Virginia news & events in your feed, there’s a simple way to do so:

  1. Open your Facebook app and click on the three lines in the bottom right hand of the screen. Scroll down and select “Settings.” On your desktop, click the down arrow on the far right of the screen and click “News Feed Preferences.”
