We told you early last year the owner of Grand Cru Wine Bar and Bistro in Ballston is opening a new French restaurant in the Upper King Street neighborhood in Alexandria, Virginia. The joint, ‘Bistro Sancerre,’ which is opening Saturday, January 19, 2019 will be located at 1725 King Street in King Street Station.
Billed as a French Bistro & Steak House, the eatery will seat 370 patrons including a private dining area and seating for 100 outdoors. There will be classical French and American cuisine including fondues and crepes along with steaks & seafood. According to the posted dinner menu, entrees will range in price from $14 to $49. Bistro Sancerre will also feature a large selection of wines from around the world and a full-service bar.
The hours of operation for the Bistro will be 11 a.m. to 1 a.m. Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 1 a.m. Saturdays and 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sundays (outdoor dining will go longer). There are also plans to hold events outdoors (weddings, live music, etc.).
The 7,885 square-foot location has tried several different tenants over the years. There was the short-lived Mezze Restaurant, a Heidi’s Brooklyn Deli, and back in 2015 a beer garden was planned for the space. There was also the popular Stella’s restaurant in the space which closed due to tax issues.
Bistro Sancerre is now hiring for all positions. Email email@example.com for more information.
