UPDATE (04.30.2019): Police are seeking more information from anyone who may have seen something related to the fatal crash.
U.S. Park Police are investigating a multi-vehicle crash with injuries on George Washington Memorial Parkway NB/SB south of Tulane Drive in Fairfax County. All lanes are blocked in both directions. Expect delays.
Use Fort Hunt Road to Alexandria Avenue to get around the crash.
U.S. Park Police said two vehicles crashed head-on on the south side of the Parkway in the area of Morningside Lane, and victims had to be extracted from the vehicles.
The driver of a taxi was killed in the head-on crash while two others suffered life-threatening injuries and were flown to a local hospital. One other person with injuries that were not life-threatening was taken to a hospital.
This remains a developing story, we’ll update the post when we get more.
