Old Town Farmers’ Market at Market Square
May 23 @ 7:00 am - 12:00 pm
An event every week that begins at 7:00 am on Saturday, repeating indefinitely
The Old Town Farmers Market in Alexandria, Virginia and is considered one of the longest-running Farmers Markets in the United States. Farmers and artists sell their goods year-round in the Market Square, located in front of City Hall at 301 King Street in Old Town Alexandria, Virginia. According to local legend, George Washington sent his farm’s produce to be sold here. The Market typically has fresh meat, dairy, fish, fruits, grains, vegetables, and a variety of goods.
The Market runs Saturdays from 7:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
UPDATE (03.24.2020): To maintain access to fresh food while promoting social distancing during the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic, the City of Alexandria has directed farmers’ market food vendors to offer only pickup of pre-ordered food until further notice. This direction is intended to ensure that vendors comply with the letter and spirit of Governor Northam’s March 23 executive order, which bans gatherings of more than 10 people and prohibits farmers’ market customers from congregating.
