Local TV personality Markette Sheppard will be reading her new children's book, "What is Light," at 1 pm on Saturday, June 23rd, at the Barnes & Noble Potomac Yard Center in Alexandria, Virginia.

Local TV personality Markette Sheppard will be reading her new children’s book, “What is Light,” at 1 pm on Saturday, June 23rd, at the Barnes & Noble Potomac Yard Center in Alexandria, Virginia. The book reveals the sparkle found in a child’s simple but extraordinary world. Join Mrs. Sheppard in an interactive storytelling session as she guiding young readers on an adventure to discover the special glow in everything from nature to the smiles of loved ones. After the reading, Mrs. Sheppard will be signing her book. A percentage of books sold on June 23rd will support the Charles Beatley Central Library’s summer reading program for children and young adults.
